Volition Parts Ways With Vocalist Paul
Volition has parted ways with vocalist Paul Gibson, instead of a replacement we have decided to continue as a four piece with Mark Burns adopting more duties in the vocal department.
We would like to thank Paul for his input into the band and wish him luck with future endeavours.
Writing is well underway and we plan to hit the studio in early-mid 2013 again with Bri Doom at the helm at Studio 1in12.
Sincere thanks to those that support us.
Volition welcomes new vocalist
We would like to welcome new member Paul Gibson into the fold, our first live outing as Volition MkII is booked for Friday 13th August, at Barrow’s own Canteen Cinema Room with Hammers & Super Intense Corpse Muncher. More details TBA. We hope to see you there.
Volition say farewell to Hodge
We have parted ways with our vocalist, Dave Hodge
Let me assure you, Volition is very far from dead. Album #2 is two thirds written and the material is stronger than ever.
Rather than give you the information second hand Hodge penned a few words:
“After 5 years with Volition I have decided it is time to hang up the mic and call it a day. Just to be clear and hopefully prevent any rumour-mongering, this is entirely my own decision. This wasn’t an easy decision to make, and I don’t know exactly why, but I’ve just lost the passion that I once had, so I’m making the decision to leave so as to try and avoid dragging the whole band down with me. There have been no clashes within the band, I’m not being pushed, and I haven’t been sleeping with anyone’s wife or girlfriend.
Volition is far from dead and is a much greater beast than any one individual member, and I wish the guys all the best for the future and I’m sure that any new vocalist will inject the commitment and passion which I can no longer offer.
As a parting shot I’d like to issue a big fuck off to the few people out there who feel the need to backstab and shit-talk. Unfortunately there are still individuals who seem to think that the underground scene can accommodate this. You know who you are and I hope you grow up sometime soon, for the sake of everyone who cares more about the music than the kudos. Sorry, but that needed to be said.
I’d just like to personally thank every single person who has supported us in some way since the bands inception. Again, you know who you are, and your contribution is and always shall be greatly appreciated. And a special thank you Jas, Burns, Marko and Jim. It’s been a blast”.
We would like to thank Dave for his contribution and friendship and wish him well in future endeavours.
