Hailing from the wastelands of Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria, England, a one-horse town with a music scene dominated by indie and kids obsessed by glo-sticks, skinny jeans and a fake love of hardcore and extreme metal.
We're always on the look out for gigs so if anyone can help in anyway, shape or form, please get in touch.

Nearly two years after it's release we have received a glowing review from the kind folks over at Hellride, many thanks to Jay Snyder for his amazing words.
Before the end of 2009 should see the next release unveiled, the details are being kept quiet at this moment, but keep your eyes peeled.
Next up is a Split CD with our good friends Bastard Noise. Thumbprint Press will more than likely be releasing this and should be out soon, our end is done and Bastard Noise have written a good
portion of their's.
Our contribution is "The Writing is On The Wall" an 11 minute foray into the horrors of impending nuclear war, I like many folk my age grew up in the cold war with genuine belief that we would one day be living in a nuclear winter etc... Magazines like Combat & Survival and TV movies like Threads etc further fueling this belief.
We are totally psyched we are to be sharing a record with such fine people especially at such an exciting phase in their careers.
Lord Summerisle from DFFD is also beavering away making a video of this, more details will follow as they develop.
Things may seem quiet in the Volition camp, rest assured things are not quiet. We've been focussing on new material for our second full length. We've also been busy sorting pending releases out that will appear very soon, as very different beasts than first envisioned. More news soon but in the meantime we have added some dates onto the gig page.
The next release containing Volition is now available for pre order. These will ship on 27th February. Bastard Noise "Our Earth's Blood IV" is a 5 CD box set that contains collaborations with: Merzbow, Bizarre Uproar, Jay Randall (Agoraphobic Nosebleed), Goverment Alpha, Guilty Connector and many many more as well as our good selves. We are one of only four European artists involved in this and the only ones from the UK. Our song Pathogen was recorded by Bri Doom at Studio 1in12 then sent over to the USA then remixed and reworked by Bastard Noise in Purrsound Studios, Hollywood, CA by Kevin Kipnis. You can find further information here or if Youtube is your thing you can find a video showcase of it here.
For anyone that is interested, James recently took part in an interview with Grabsticks, a drum specific webzine. You can read it here, also make sure you check out the rest of the content and support this webzine.
We got word last week that Bastard Noise "Our Earth's Blood" Part IV 5 CD box set has gone to press, this includes a reworking of our song "Pathogen" remixed at Purrsound Studios, LA by Kevin Kipnis and backing vocals supplied by the legend that is Eric Wood. This will be out soon on Cathartic Process Records. Watch this space for further details.
You can now order your tickets for the Grief/Trap Them gig on the 26th November via our Gigs page.
It is with great honour to inform you that we have been chosen to support Grief & Trap Them on their Manchester date. Myself (Jas) and Burnsey (Bass) were sold a Grief/Dystopia 7" by Dino Cazares at a Fear Factory/Brutal Truth gig in 1993 and have been fans since, so it means a lot to us. Many thanks to Future Noise for their continued support!
See you all at the front for Grief, and remember: If it's too slow, you're too happy!
After much speculation, the date for Rottingham Festival has now been confirmed and Volition will be playing on Saturday 28th February 2009, more info can be found on our gigs page, see you all at Grind To Groove later today!

Another album review now up, this time from Chronicles of Chaos Webzine, thanks to Quentin Kalis for his words, some choice words that our very own Mr Burns will appreciate.
It is with regret to announce that this years Rottingham has been postponed, we'd like to say a quick thanks to Ian & Dan @ Nottsnoise for their efforts and below is their statement as to the current situation:
Sadly, due to reasons beyond our control we have had to postpone Rottingham for a bit.
Basically we've changed the date twice already, and now the venue have told us they have a club night on the Saturday night and we'd have to finish by 8pm, which to be honest, isn't gonna happen.
The Old Angel is probably the best venue in the area for a gig like this, so we are sticking with the Angel and will hopefully have the bands and new date confirmed soon as possible. We just thought it fair to postpone rather than mess everyone about again. We have spoke to bands and have highlighted the problem, and we know this looks very unprofessional on our part, but sometimes things like this can't be helped.
So just watch this space for new updates on bands and dates, and cheers for the support.
Ian + Dan @ NottsNoise.

Anyone picking up a copy of today's Kerrang might notice that we got a review. They rated it as 4 Ks! Go read it for yourself here if you don't believe us! Seriously, for something that we never thought would make it out of the local pubs/venues we are truly elated with the response by the national metal music press. We have been asked to collaborate with Fossegrimen, Thee Kvlt Ov Ouroboros, Gnaw their Tongues, and Disjecta Membrae on a vinyl only release. The record is a concept based around the theme of the end of the world/apocalypse. The 15 min song 'The Writing is On The Wall' will be recorded in early 2008 and released soon after on US label Land O' Smiles Records.
Rock Sound Magazine will feature us in 'Exposure' section, we also have a review and a song on the cover disc.
We are incredibly proud to say that Volition will be part of BN 'Our Earth's Blood IV' 5 CD Boxset. As a long term Man Is The Bastard/Charred Remains/Pissed Happy Children/Bastard Noise fans, this is simply beyond comprehension.
Last night I heard the first mix of Pathogen (from our forthcoming album, released 01.01.2008) which has been brutalised and is sounds fantastic, the Volition stamp is still there as is BN's, a true collaboration indeed and is due for release in early 2008.
Many thanks go to Wood, Rauf & Nelson: Bastard Noise, Gad: Totalrust Music, Bri Doom: Studio 1in12, & Kevin: Purrsound Studios for all their efforts into making this happen.
